The pipe that carries steam from the boiler to the tap
Between the boiler and the steam tap sits a pre-formed pipe. It is inconspicuous, sits inside the housing and is never seen from the outside – and it is exactly the spot where limescale builds up over the years and where the connections work mechanically, because the metal expands a little every time it heats up and contracts again as it cools down.
The spare part is made to length and bend; it is not adjusted. Part number A27NI04290 has replaced the older A27NI06087.
When it is due
The pipe is due when moisture or a white trail of limescale appears at one of the fittings and even a new gasket does not stop it – in that case the sealing surface on the pipe itself is usually damaged. The same applies if, during a service, it turns out that the pipe was bent out of shape during an earlier repair and the connections are under tension. And of course when it has become so clogged inside that the steam pressure at the wand drops noticeably, even though the tap and tip are clear.

Important for installation
The pipe sits inside the machine in a pressurised steam line, directly next to live electrical components. We deliberately do not publish step-by-step instructions for this. The machine must be disconnected from power, depressurised and cooled down, the housing is opened, and the fittings must be tightened free of tension and to the correct torque. After installation, a leak test under pressure is part of the job. This is work for a qualified technician.
Who it is for
For service workshops and for owners who obtain the part ahead of a scheduled service visit. Rocket has designed the steam routing differently depending on year of manufacture and model variant – send us the serial number and we will check before you order whether this pipe is the right one.
What goes with it
You will find gaskets and fittings for the steam side under Rocket Appartamento spare parts, and further lines and connections under Rocket accessories and spare parts. Our entire range is under Service and spare parts, and the products that tackle the cause under Machine and grinder cleaning.
Our routine from Bern and Zurich – not a manufacturer's specification, but what applies in our workshop: whenever we open a steam line, we always replace all gaskets on the loosened connections, including the ones that still look fine. A gasket costs a few francs, a second removal costs an afternoon. After reassembly we let the machine heat up fully twice and then check again. While we wait, we pull a shot of Nutty Delight, later a Cozy Chocolate or a Very Nutty. You will find them all under Coffee beans.
No returns
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Are gaskets included?
The pipe is supplied on its own. We stock the matching gaskets separately – let us know which connections you are opening and we will add them.
Can I re-bend the pipe if it does not fit perfectly?
We advise against it. Bending changes the cross-section and creates a weak spot at the bend in a line that is under pressure.
Will it fit my machine?
The steam routing differs depending on the year of manufacture. Send us the serial number and we will check before you order.
How long does delivery take?
Across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2-4 working days.
Can I see the part at your showroom?
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Bring the old pipe along and we will compare them directly.
