Ceado E37Z-Naked – all-purpose grinder with 83 mm DLC burrs and zero retention
Wood, aluminium and steel come together, along with the angled spout from which the coffee falls straight into the portafilter – the E37Z-Naked stands on the counter with a calm, warm presence. And it can do something you only appreciate when dialling in: finding the grind size without detours.
The 83 mm burrs and the grinding chamber are coated with DLC (diamond-like carbon), which reduces friction and prevents grounds from sticking. Together with the 45° incline, the bellows attachment and the spring-loaded output chute, hardly anything stays behind in the chamber. The interlocking worm gear allows fine micro adjustments; unlock it and large macro jumps between espresso and filter become possible. So you lose little time and little coffee when dialling in.
For filter or pour-over methods, the portafilter hook beneath the chute can be removed so that drippers, French press and other vessels have room. Included are a set of three tinted single-dose bottles, a spray bottle against static charge, a portafilter funnel and a coffee journal. Our opinion is one of many – but this combination of materiality and zero retention has a charm all of its own.

Frequently asked questions
How long does delivery take?
The E37Z-Naked is made to order. The delivery time is usually around 2–3 months. Click & Collect in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon is possible once it's completed.
Can I also grind for filter with it?
Yes. Via micro and macro adjustment, large jumps from fine to coarse grind are possible; the portafilter hook can be removed to make room for drippers and French press.
How does it achieve the low retention?
The DLC coating on burrs and chamber reduces friction and sticking; the bellows attachment and spring-loaded chute push out any remaining grounds.
