La Pavoni Casa Bar – compact single boiler portafilter machine
Lock in the portafilter, flip the toggle switch, read the pump pressure on the manometer: you can buy the La Pavoni Casa Bar in Switzerland from us in black or stainless steel.
The Casa Bar is a single boiler machine with a 0.22 L boiler, a 15 bar vibration pump and a chrome-plated brass brew unit. You froth milk with the steam wand, and a hot water function is also available. As a single boiler, it takes around 15 minutes to heat up.
Housing in matt black or polished stainless steel, 22 cm wide: the machine also fits on a small kitchen counter. How you pull your shot is up to you. We work by weight ratio, with 1:2 as a starting point. Our opinion is one of many.

Who the Casa Bar is made for
For everyone who wants to work with a portafilter at home, in a small space. A single boiler is not only for espresso: if you drink cappuccino, you froth the milk after brewing. You will find more models among our single boiler espresso machines, and our advisory tool narrows down the choice.
The grinder shapes the espresso strongly. Burr sets are like engines, there is no objectively best one. For everyone who wants an affordable and precise grinder: the VS3 from Varia or a hand grinder from Comandante and Timemore. If you want more: the VS6 from Varia, Weber Workshops or Option-O. All models in our coffee grinders.
For the weight ratio you need a scale: compact and precise from Normcore, with app and flow rate display from Acaia. You will find tampers, puck screens and WDT tools in our barista tools, jugs among our milk pitchers.
You can test machines and grinders side by side in the espresso machine and grinder comparison in the showroom, a reserved hour at the machines in Bern or Zurich. It is an option, not a requirement. A free consultation appointment is separate from this, as is the private barista course, which can be booked in addition.
Delivery within 2–4 working days throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein, Click & Collect in Bern and Zurich. Financing possible. We answer questions at [email protected] or by phone during business hours, more at coffeecoachingclub.ch.
Frequently asked questions
Which portafilter does the La Pavoni Casa Bar have?
A double-spout portafilter. La Pavoni specifies the internal diameter with basket as 55 mm. Baskets for one and two cups, an ABS tamper and a coffee scoop are included in the box.
Can I froth milk with the Casa Bar?
Yes. The chrome-plated brass steam wand froths milk for cappuccino and latte macchiato. As a single boiler, the Casa Bar makes espresso and steam one after the other, not at the same time.
How long does the Casa Bar take to heat up?
As a single boiler, around 15 minutes until it is ready for the first shot.
What is the difference from the Casa Bar PID?
The Casa Bar PID controls the brew temperature with a PID, has a shot timer, a 0.3 L brass boiler, 1320 W and a 58 mm portafilter. The Casa Bar works without PID, with a 0.22 L boiler and 950 W.
Can I see the La Pavoni Casa Bar before buying?
Not every model is set up at all times in our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b). Write to us at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the Casa Bar is on site.
Tip from the roastery: For espresso and cappuccino from a single boiler, we roast Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight: full-bodied, with chocolate and nut. If you are looking for maximum body without acidity, go for Very Nutty; if you like it fruity, discover Wild Peach. This is our recommendation, one of many.
