Normcore Tamper Pressure-Adjustable 58.5 mm Teflon White
The Normcore Tamper 58.5 mm in Teflon White: spring-loaded, with a levelling plate and three springs, for the same pressure and a level tamp with every shot.
It is the Normcore Spring Loaded Tamper V4 in the white version with Teflon finish, supplied with a stand. Coffee Coaching Club is the official Swiss importer of Normcore.
Features
Constant pressure via the central shaft
On the V4, the interchangeable springs act on the central shaft, which applies the pressure directly to the coffee grounds. The tamping force is set by the spring, not by your arm. The manufacturer illustration shows the construction on the black version of the same model.
Level tamping
The levelling plate rests flat on the rim of the basket as you press. Every tamp comes out level without you having to align it by eye.
Controlled depth
Press and turn clockwise at the same time. As soon as the levelling plate touches the basket, the travel stops. This keeps the tamp depth repeatable.
Interchangeable springs
Three springs are included: 15 lb, 25 lb (pre-installed) and 30 lb. By swapping them you set the tamping pressure you prefer.

Who this tamper is for
For anyone with a 58 mm portafilter who wants a consistent tamp and likes a bright finish. Even where several people tamp on the same machine, the spring ensures the same pressure. Our opinion is one of many: a consistent tamp does not automatically make the espresso better, but the shots become more comparable, and that helps when dialling in by weight ratio, for example 1:2.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which machines fit the Normcore Tamper 58.5 mm?
Standard 58 mm portafilters of most espresso machines, such as those from La Marzocco, Rocket, ECM, Profitec or Lelit.
Which spring should I use with the Normcore Tamper?
The 25 lb spring is installed at the factory. The 15 lb and 30 lb springs are included. You choose the spring according to the tamping pressure you prefer.
How does the white Teflon version differ?
In the surface. Normcore offers the V4 in black and in white with a Teflon finish; mechanism, springs and scope of delivery are the same.
Can the tamper go in the dishwasher?
No. Normcore advises against dishwashers, strong detergents and soaking in hot water, as this can affect the spring mechanism.
Can I see the Normcore Tamper before buying?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
Tip from the roastery: For dense, sweet espresso, we like to reach for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you like it full and round without acidity, stay with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. That is our recommendation, one of many.
