Eureka felt for the Auto-Tamper – the smallest part with the biggest difference
Inside the Atom's Auto-Tamper, a felt works as a wear part. It is inconspicuous, cheap and almost never ordered – until the tamper starts making noises it didn't make before. Then it is usually exactly this piece that is no longer doing its job.
Felt absorbs coffee dust, soaks up oil and hardens over the months. What once cushioned softly is then a compressed disc. Replacing it costs little and is the cheapest maintenance you can do on this assembly.
When it's due
When the felt is visibly dark, compressed or oily. When it frays or comes apart in pieces. When the Auto-Tamper runs louder or less smoothly than before. And generally with every major cleaning – a fresh felt is not an item worth saving on.

Who it's for
For everyone who runs the Auto-Tamper on the Atom continuously and maintains it regularly. And for everyone who orders the small parts along with the annual overhaul instead of opening it up a second time later.
What goes with it
The same assembly includes the gear for the Auto-Tamper and the TPA Rack. We also stock the complete automatic tamper for the Atom. For cleaning, see Machine and grinder cleaning; more parts under Eureka.
Tip from our workshop
With every overhaul of the Auto-Tamper we add a new felt, even if the old one still looks usable. Removing a part worth a few francs twice costs more time than it will ever save. This is our routine in Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer requirement. For dialling in afterwards we use Nutty Delight, for chocolatey notes Cozy Chocolate and for body Very Nutty. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the appliance. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
