La Marzocco Linea PB X AV 2-Group – Multiboiler Espresso Machine for Cafés
Steam drifts over the counter, two groups running back to back: the Linea PB X AV 2-group is a workhorse for cafés with good throughput.
The PB line has proven itself in cafés worldwide for years, and the X-generation builds on that with current boiler technology – recognisable by the white logo, pressure gauge and button lights instead of the classic red. This listing is the machine on its own: no fixed service package attached, so you keep full freedom over the timing and scope of delivery and installation. If you'd rather have it bundled into one price, we also carry the matching complete-package variant with delivery, water filter and installation already included.
At Coffee Coaching Club we're both La Marzocco partners and coffee roasters. Wherever you're buying the Linea PB X, you get configuration, installation, training and service from one place – whichever variant you choose.
What makes the Linea PB X special
The X-generation runs on independent saturated boilers per group head instead of a single E61 group – two 1.3-litre coffee boilers and a 7-litre steam boiler, each controlled separately. That keeps the temperature stable at every group throughout the day, even when both sides of the bar are running at once. In our observation, a saturated group delivers a more refined flavour profile than an E61 group, regardless of the heating system behind it – other roasters and baristas see it differently, and that's fine too.
AV stands for Auto-Volumetric: the shot volume per group is programmed via a flow meter and stops automatically at the set point. Integrated scales and automatic drip prediction aren't part of the AV version – at La Marzocco, that's reserved for the ABR variant. That doesn't change the ratio: whether you calibrate by eye, scale or timer, 1:2 remains our starting point, never a fixed time alone. On top of that, Pro Touch steam wands stay cool to the touch on the outside, while carrying enough steam pressure inside for milk in large pitchers.

Installation and delivery
The machine ships from the factory without a plug. An installation package and lime-scale filter installation can be added if you need them, and are automatically suggested in your cart once you add the machine – as separate, optional line items, not included in the machine's price. If you'd rather have everything from one hand at one price, we also carry the variant with delivery, water filter and installation already included. We'll arrange availability and delivery timing with you individually after purchase. Financing is available on request. When you buy a La Marzocco, a private barista workshop for your team is also included (at one location, up to three team members, in German or English) – extraction philosophy and the espresso ritual, around five minutes per round, no espresso rulebook, just what ends up tasting good in the cup.
Who the Linea PB X 2-group is for
For cafés, bars and businesses with good throughput that need two groups and know they want to time the installation and water treatment themselves, or plan it individually with us. Just as much for teams who'd rather keep the configuration – leg height, accessories, installation timing – in their own hands than have it packaged into a complete deal. Whether this variant suits you or the complete package makes more sense is a practical call, not a judgment – our opinion on it is one of many, and you know your business best.
What goes with it
You'll find the right grinder for café operations in the Mahlkönig range – from compact models to high-output grinders for continuous use. For the scale on the bar: compact and reliable is the Normcore Collection, while flow-rate display and app connectivity is the Acaia Collection. Care products for daily operation are under Machine and Grinder Cleaning. Not sure which configuration fits your business? Our espresso machine comparison helps with the decision.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between this listing and the complete package with delivery, water filter and installation?
Here you're buying the machine on its own. An installation package and lime-scale filter are suggested automatically in your cart, but they're separate, optional line items. In the complete package, delivery, water filter and installation are already included in one price.
What does AV mean on the Linea PB X, and how is it different from ABR?
AV stands for Auto-Volumetric: the shot volume per group is programmable via a flow meter and stops automatically. Integrated scales and automatic drip prediction only exist on La Marzocco's ABR version, not on AV.
What's the difference between the Linea PB X and the Linea PB?
The X-generation brings newly engineered, independent saturated boilers per group, Pro Touch steam wands, and a design with white elements instead of red.
Can I see the Linea PB X before buying?
Yes. In our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) you can experience the machine live before you decide.
Is a barista workshop included with purchase?
Yes. When you buy a La Marzocco, a private barista workshop for your team is included, at one location, up to three team members, in German or English.
Is financing available for the Linea PB X?
Financing is available on request. Just drop us a line beforehand at office@coffeecoachingclub.ch or call us during business hours.
Roastery tip
A reliable workhorse only really comes into its own with consistent coffee behind it. As a roastery, we supply cafés with freshly roasted beans and tune a profile to your business. For the majority, we recommend dense, aromatic and round – Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. If you're after maximum body with no acidity at all, that's Very Nutty. And for anyone curious about a fruity experience, as a side note: Wild Peach. Reach out to us – this is our recommendation, one of many.
