Normcore RDT Spray Bottle 30 ml
One or two sprays on the beans before they go into the grinder – and the static charge noticeably decreases. Less powder sticking to the chute and grinder, less dust cloud, less retention. A small tool with an unusually large effect in the single-dose ritual.
A refillable spray bottle for the Ross Droplet Technique, or RDT.
What makes this spray bottle special
With the Ross Droplet Technique, the beans are moistened with one or two drops of water before grinding. This reduces the static charge that occurs during grinding – with the result that less ground coffee remains in the grinder and retention decreases. The fine spray mist distributes the small amount of water evenly without soaking the beans.
Inside sits a pure glass container, outside a black metal casing; the pump nozzle and cap are made of plastic. The bottle is refillable: unscrew the cap, fill with water, done. The glass and spray head have passed the tests of the TUV test center according to European food contact directive, as well as FDA and ROHS.

Who it's for
For everyone who grinds single doses and wants to keep static under control – especially with grinders that tend to have ground coffee residue. RDT is not essential, but many find the discharge cleaner afterwards. We welcome every coffee path.
Pairs well with
RDT works directly with the grinder – affordable and very good with the Varia VS3 or Comandante C40 from our Coffee Grinder Collection, with more demanding materials from Weber Workshops. Dosing cups, dosing funnels and WDT tools can be found in our Normcore Collection.
The machine to go with it – from single boilers to dual boilers – in our Coffee Machine Collection. If you're still choosing, use our consultation tool.
Frequently asked questions about the Normcore RDT Spray Bottle
What does RDT mean?
RDT stands for Ross Droplet Technique. The beans are moistened with one or two drops of water before grinding to reduce static charge and thus ground coffee residue in the grinder.
What water can I use?
Ordinary tap water is sufficient. If desired, filtered or distilled water can be used.
Is the bottle refillable?
Yes, the cap can be unscrewed and the bottle refilled with water.
For which grinders is RDT useful?
Basically for all grinders, especially those that tend to have static residue in single-dose operation. Even a very small amount of water is sufficient.
Roastery Tip
A clean grinding process helps every bean. For dense, sweet espresso, we like to reach for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you like it full-bodied and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. This is our recommendation, one of many, and any bean you like is the right one.
