Puly Caff Plus cleaning tablets – one tablet, no measuring
One tablet in the blind basket, start the cleaning programme, done. No teaspoon, no guesswork, no powder landing next to the basket. That's the whole difference from the powder – and in day-to-day service it matters more than you'd think.
The cleaner itself is the same: it dissolves the coffee oils that settle in the brew group, shower screen and valves and go rancid long before you can taste them. Puly's Plus line is made from food-safe ingredients and is NSF-certified.
How to use it
Blind basket into the portafilter, one tablet in, let the brew group flush several times under pressure, then rinse thoroughly. The pack contains 100 tablets of one gram each – with daily cleaning, that lasts over three months.

Who they're for
For cafés where cleaning isn't always done by the same person – you can't get the dose wrong with a tablet. And for home use, if a tin of powder would sit in the cupboard for a year before it's empty.
What goes with it
To backflush, you need a blind basket. The same cleaner as a powder is Puly Caff Plus cleaning powder 370 g, the green line is Puly Caff Verde. More under Puly Caff and machine and grinder cleaning.
Tip from our café
When cleaning, we deliberately let the tablet work for two to three cycles instead of flushing straight through – it dissolves more slowly than powder. That's our observation from day-to-day work in Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer specification. To recalibrate the shot, we use Nutty Delight, for chocolatey notes Cozy Chocolate and for maximum body Very Nutty. All our roasts are under coffee beans.
Frequently asked questions
How many tablets do I need per cleaning?
One. It weighs one gram and is designed for one cleaning cycle.
What's the difference from the powder?
The cleaner is the same. The tablet takes care of the dosing for you and is cleaner to handle; the powder is cheaper per cleaning and can also be used for soaking portafilters.
Can I soak portafilters with them?
The powder is better suited for that, because it dissolves evenly in warm water.
Do I need a blind basket?
Yes. Without a blind basket, the group doesn't build up pressure and the tablet is simply flushed through.
Are the tablets safe?
They are made from food-safe ingredients and are NSF-certified. They carry the H319 label – causes serious eye irritation – so avoid contact with the eyes and rinse thoroughly after cleaning.
