IMS Baristapro Precision Basket D22661 – ridgeless, 15 g (58 mm)
Hold the basket up to the light, and you'll see the craftsmanship: 661 precisely laser-cut holes, each in the same spot, each the same size. This very uniformity manifests in the naked portafilter as a calm, focused flow – even with a slim 15g dose.
No one needs a precision basket to pull good espresso – the original basket does its job. You want it because the cup becomes clearer and rounder. This is one of many possible decisions, and we respect both choices.
What makes this basket special
The Baristapro D22661 is IMS' precise all-rounder: 661 laser-cut holes, evenly distributed, ensure that the water flows through the puck at the same speed everywhere – fewer channels, fewer over- and under-extracted spots. The surface is electro-polished: smoother, more robust, easier to clean. Espresso is extraction via a weight ratio, usually 1:2; what you taste is density, sweetness, and a round finish – caramel, chocolate, and nut clear in the glass, and for those who like light roasts, a fruity acidity at the end. Taste and smell are inseparable – a large part of the aroma is created retronasally, upon swallowing. It is our observation that the choice of basket fundamentally changes the aroma profile. Made from AISI 304 stainless steel in Italy.

Who it's for
For anyone working with smaller doses – clear, lighter cups or smaller brews – and wanting to specifically improve their setup without changing machine or grinder. Every budget is welcome. Those who dose higher will find the same basket in 18, 20, and 22 g (with a correspondingly higher basket). You belong here because you love coffee – not because you use a particular basket.
What goes with it
The basket looks best in a naked portafilter. To ensure an even puck: the tamper collection – affordable with Normcore, premium with Weber Workshops. To prevent clumps before that: WDT Tools. Plus the right grinder. All other baskets: Precision Baskets Collection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Baristapro or Baristapro Nanotech – what's the difference?
The Nanotech version also has a nano-quartz coating: this makes the shot noticeably faster, and you have to grind finer and re-calibrate. This Baristapro is the electro-polished standard version without coating – with classic, familiar flow.
What dose and height?
This version is designed for 15 g (basket height 22 mm). The line is also available in 18 g (24 mm), 20 g (26 mm), and 22 g (28 mm) – height and dose match in each case.
Does the basket fit my machine?
It is made for 58mm portafilters (rim Ø 70 mm) and fits many E61 brew groups – including La Marzocco, Rocket, ECM, Bezzera, Rancilio, Faema, Fiorenzato, Nuova Simonelli, Wega. If in doubt, tell us your machine model.
What does "ridgeless" mean?
The basket has no circumferential retaining ridge and is held by the spring or the portafilter. It sits perfectly in most 58mm portafilters.
Can I see the basket before buying?
Yes, in our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b).
Roastery Tip
A uniform basket most rewards dense, aromatic beans. From our coffee roastery, Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight brew full-bodied and round. For maximum body without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for those who like fruity notes, Wild Peach reveals a vibrant peach note. Our recommendation – one of many.
