From espresso to filter to cold brew, you change the grind size with a single turn. Buy the Mahlkönig X64 SD in Switzerland: online or in our showrooms in Bern and Zurich.
Features of the X64 SD
One grinder, several attachments
Several hopper attachments and grinding accessories are included. With them you adapt the grinder to different dose sizes and grind without interruption.
Grind size down to the micrometre
The dial adjusts the grind size steplessly on a finely divided scale from 0 to 12. Once you have found a setting, you can return to it.
From espresso to cold brew
A grind size overview is printed on the inside of the lid. Mahlkönig recommends 0 to 2 for espresso, 2 to 7 for filter and 7 to 12 for coarse grinds such as cold brew. Depending on the bean and roast level, the right value may differ.
Single dose at home
No coffee grounds stay behind, every dose is freshly ground. The bellows are included. The 64 mm flat burrs made of special steel produce uniform particles, the grinder delivers at least 3 g/s for espresso and runs quietly.
The details in everyday use
Three attachments for the hopper
Standard or anti-popcorning lid for 30 g, the hopper extension for 100 g and the bellows for 80 g. The anti-popcorning lid keeps beans from jumping out while grinding. With the bellows you press the grinding chamber empty after grinding.
Dosing cup with funnel
The stainless steel dosing cup with funnel is included. Mahlkönig recommends it especially from filter grind size upwards for a clean flow.
Changing the grind size
The adjustment is stepless. Before you set it finer, Mahlkönig advises grinding the chamber empty so that the adjustment does not jam.
Cleaning
Mahlkönig recommends cleaning the grinder with GRINDZ at least once a week. You wipe the housing with a damp, lint-free cloth, without chemical cleaners. You will find the grinder cleaner in our Urnex Collection.
For coffee only
The X64 SD is built exclusively for coffee beans, not for spices, poppy seeds or grains.

Who the X64 SD is made for
For everyone who often switches between beans and brewing methods and is looking for a compact grinder with flat burrs to do so. You will find more grinders from the brand in our Mahlkönig Collection, and all grinders in the Coffee Grinders Collection. If you are still comparing, use our advice tool.
For grinders, our view is this: for everyone who wants to grind affordably and precisely, there is the Varia VS3 or hand grinders from Comandante and Timemore. If you want more, take a look at the Varia VS6, the EG-1 from Weber Workshops or the Lagom from Option-O. Burr sets are like engines: subjective, there is no objectively best one.
For weighing your dose: for everyone who wants an affordable and precise scale, the Normcore Collection. If you want an app and flow rate display: Acaia. You will find the matching espresso machine in the Coffee Machines Collection.
If you want to test grinders side by side, book our comparison workshop in Zurich, an option, not a requirement. A free advice appointment is also possible.

Can I see the product before buying?
In our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) we show a wide selection, but not every model is set up at all times. Write to us before your visit at [email protected]. Delivery takes 2–4 working days, throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein, and Click & Collect is available in Bern and Zurich.
Tip from the roastery: For dense, sweet espresso we like to grind Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you are looking for full body without acidity, go for Very Nutty. And if you would like to discover a fruity cup as a filter now and then, you will find it in Wild Peach. This is our recommendation, one of many.
