Profitec JUMP EXCLUSIVE LINE – heat exchanger espresso machine
Handcrafted handles in American walnut, a black rail above the satin-finished front – and below it just 22.8 centimetres of counter space.
That width is the real trick of the JUMP. A machine with a heat exchanger, a 1.6-litre boiler and steam that really gets things moving in the milk jug rarely fits into a gap this size. The boiler is made of stainless steel, with a stainless steel heating element and insulation, so the heat stays where it belongs. As a heat exchanger, it heats the steam water and at the same time brings the brew water to temperature on its way to the group – you pull shots and froth milk without switching over.
The JUMP is operated with a single multifunction switch. With it, you choose one of three PID-controlled boiler temperatures, switch pre-infusion on or off and activate ECO mode. These three temperature settings are more than a gimmick: temperature helps decide which compounds are extracted from the puck. One step higher brings more body and sweetness, one step lower more definition and aroma. The same bean can produce two very different cups this way, and neither of them is the right one – just the one you like better that day. No espresso laws, no espresso police.
The small display stays in the background and shows what matters: the shot time as a shot counter, whether pre-infusion and ECO mode are running, the temperature unit and whether there is still water in the tank. In front of the puck sits the Profitec brew group with a stainless steel mushroom, not the well-known E61. In our observation, a saturated brew group delivers a slightly more refined aroma profile than an E61, regardless of the heating system behind it – others see it differently, and our opinion is one of many.
Add to that the low-noise vibration pump that makes mornings quieter, a 2.8-litre water tank and a bottomless portafilter with modular silicone attachments that you can turn into a single or double spout in seconds. The EXCLUSIVE LINE is the version with the walnut handles and the black rail; it is only available from selected specialist dealers.

Who the JUMP is for
For anyone who loves milk drinks and has little counter space. For kitchens where 22.8 centimetres of width decide between yes and no. And for anyone who wants a machine that is operated with a switch rather than a menu – three temperatures, pre-infusion on or off, done. The rest happens in the cup.
Because the grinder accounts for more than half of the result, it's worth a look at our coffee grinders: affordable and precise, the Varia VS3 or the Comandante C40 as a hand grinder; for bigger burrs and more features, the Varia VS6, the Weber Workshops EG-1 or the Option-O Lagom. Since you'll be working with milk a lot here, our milk jugs include the Normcore Pitcher as well as the jugs from Rhino and Weber Workshops. For dosing by weight, have a look at the coffee scales: Normcore for compact and reliable, Acaia for app and flow-rate display. And if you're not yet sure whether a heat exchanger or a dual boiler suits your everyday routine, our comparison and advice tool will help.
Frequently asked questions about the Profitec JUMP
How long does it take to heat up?
Allow around 20 minutes. A heat exchanger has to warm up not only the boiler but also the brew group – only then is the temperature at the shower screen where you want it.
What is the difference between the JUMP and the Profitec MOVE?
The heating system. The JUMP is a heat exchanger with a 1.6-litre boiler, the MOVE a dual boiler with two separate boilers. Both are separate models with their own item numbers.
Can I make espresso and milk foam at the same time?
Yes. The heat exchanger supplies steam and brew water in parallel, so there's no switching over or waiting.
What does EXCLUSIVE LINE mean?
It is the version with handcrafted walnut handles, a black rail and a satin-finished front. Profitec only supplies this variant to selected specialist dealers. Technically, it is identical to the JUMP.
Can I see the product before buying?
Yes. In our showrooms in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich Oerlikon at Hagenholzstrasse 50b, you can see Profitec espresso machines live.
How quickly do you deliver within Switzerland?
In 2 to 4 working days, throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein. Financing is available.

Tip from our coffee roastery
A heat exchanger usually works in a slightly warmer window, and that suits dense roasts – especially when milk is added. Our favourites here are Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight, both full-bodied, sweet and with a long finish. If you're looking for maximum body without any acidity, take Very Nutty, and for a fruity experience, the lowest of the three temperature settings with Wild Peach is worth a try. Our recommendation is one of many – any bean you enjoy is the right one.
