Rocket complete steam wand for the R58 – when straightening is no longer enough
The steam wand is the part that takes the most punishment. It gets bumped, dipped into the jug, swivelled a hundred times a day and keeps going from hot to cold. At some point it sits crooked, the ball joint no longer holds its position, or the tube has a dent that can no longer be pushed out.
Then a complete wand is the clean solution. You get back the geometry Rocket intended – the angle at which the vortex in the jug forms on its own.
When it is due
When the wand sags or tips away by itself. When the tube is bent, dented or leaking at the joint. When the old wand can no longer be aligned properly and you have to readjust it for every jug.

Important distinction
This part is the wand, not the tap. You keep the steam valve from your machine or order it separately through our service. We deliberately do not sell valves online: they sit in the pressurised part of the machine and belong in expert hands. Write to us and we will arrange it through our service.
The steam and hot water wands in the Rocket catalogue
Wands look confusingly alike and still cannot be swapped at will. What matters is which series it is fitted to, whether the valve and knob are included, and which number the manufacturer lists for it. We carry nine wands in the Rocket catalogue, in three groups. Because the documentation gives no length, thread size or material for any of them, the part number is the reliable identifier – which is why we state it everywhere.
Appartamento, Mozzafiato, Giotto and Cellini share three items: the complete steam wand for Appartamento, Cellini, Giotto and Mozzafiato (part number R290003611) is the wand without valve, the complete steam wand with valve, without knob, for Appartamento, Mozzafiato and Giotto (part number R299906015) comes with valve but without knob, and the complete hot water wand for Appartamento, Cellini, Giotto and Mozzafiato (part number R290003612) is the hot water wand for the same series. The last two numbers differ by a single digit – R290003611 versus R290003612 – and refer to two different parts: one for steam, one for hot water.
R58, Porta Via, Boxer and R9V each have their own wand: the complete steam wand for the R58, without steam valve (part number A219904651) – that is, this product, the steam wand for the Porta Via (part number A219906168), the steam wand for the Boxer (part number R219905307) and the complete steam wand for the R9V (part number M219906488). Nothing here fits across models, even if the tubes look similar.
Without a documented series there are two more wands in the catalogue: a complete steam wand (part number A219908566) and a second complete steam wand (part number M219906508). For both, the documentation names no model, only the number. If you have a service document with one of these numbers in front of you, you are in the right place; if you are searching by machine model, it is better to drop us a quick line.
At the end of a steam wand sits the nozzle, and that is what scales up first – not the wand. We sell it separately: the steam nozzle 1.2 mm for R58 and R60, the steam nozzle 1.5 mm for R58 and R60 and the two-hole steam nozzle 1.5 mm for the Appartamento. Often a descaling bath for the nozzle is enough, and the wand stays where it is.
If you are not sure which wand is fitted to your machine, send us the serial number and we will check the fit before you order. With these parts, that is not just a polite phrase: original spare parts cannot be returned.
What goes with it
The steam nozzle sits at the tip – a good opportunity to renew it at the same time or at least descale it. You will find suitable products in our cleaning range for machine and grinder, and for milk residues Puly Milk Plus Liquido. We carry the gasket for the tap as the Rocket gasket for steam and water tap R58/GB5. Everything else under Rocket accessories and spare parts.
Tip from our café
Before we replace a wand, we check the joint: often it is not the wand that is tired, but just the friction disc underneath that has compressed. Half a turn on the lock nut restores the hold – and saves the whole part. That is our workshop routine from Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer specification. For dialling in afterwards we use Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate for chocolatey notes and Very Nutty for maximum body. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So check your machine’s model, year of manufacture and serial number before ordering – or drop us a quick line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Is the steam valve included?
No. The complete wand is supplied without valve. You keep the valve from your machine or have it replaced through our service.
Is the steam nozzle included?
The nozzle at the tip is a separate part. Tell us how many holes you use and we will include it.
Can I fit the wand myself?
It sits in the steam-carrying part of the machine. We recommend installation by a specialist – a poorly seated threaded connection will leak under pressure.
Does it also fit an R60 or Cinquantotto?
This part is listed for the R58. For other models, we are happy to check the fit using the serial number.
Can I see the part in the showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
