What makes the Ion Beam special
Grinding creates static electricity due to friction – especially in dry air. It causes coffee grounds to stick to walls, chaff to fly around, and the puck to clump. The Ion Beam counters this with an industrial-grade ion generator: It emits a steady stream of charged ions, neutralizing the charge created during grinding. The result is less residue, less flying chaff, and hardly any clumping.
The built-in infrared sensor is practical: It detects an object within a radius of about 5 cm. If you place a dosing cup nearby, the ionizer activates itself – this makes the process smoother and more efficient. Static charge is most persistent in dry air – it's most noticeable in winter with heated air. Those who single-dose a lot will quickly appreciate the difference.
