Buy barista equipment in Switzerland – accessories for espresso

Discover barista equipment in Switzerland – tampers, WDT tools, puck screens, scales and more, curated by our coffee roastery, available in Bern and Zurich.

The details that count

As a coffee roastery with a focus on aroma chemistry, we understand: Great beans need great technology.

You've invested. Espresso machine . Coffee grinder . Our freshly roasted beans.

But the shot? Somehow inconsistent. Sometimes brilliant. Sometimes bitter. Sometimes flat.

Often it's not the obvious things. It's the details: The tamper, which you sometimes use with 10kg of pressure, sometimes with 20kg. The puck that isn't level. The old portafilter basket that distributes the grounds unevenly. The milk that doesn't have the right texture.

Each of these "small" problems costs you 1-2 percent in quality. Together? 10-15 percent.

What makes great barista tools

As a specialty coffee roastery, we work with precise parameters. We know that consistency isn't a coincidence, but the result of controlled variables. But we also know that you use the tools you enjoy using best.

Tamper with pressure regulation
The facts: Tamping pressure affects flow rate. Inconsistent pressure means inconsistent shots. Spring-loaded tampers like those from Normcore guarantee, for example, 15 kg of pressure every time.

The truth is: Yes, it works measurably. But mainly: It's the feeling in your hand. The ritual. The consistency makes you more confident – and confidence makes better coffee.

WDT tools
The facts: Ground coffee agglomerates (forms clumps). Clumps mean channels, which mean channeling, which means bitter AND sour at the same time. WDT breaks down clumps at the molecular level.

The truth is: This isn't a placebo. But it's also fun – this meditative circular motion, the needles through the coffee. Function AND Zen.

Puck Screens
The facts: Water doesn't hit the puck evenly. Screens distribute the initial flow homogeneously across the entire surface. This reduces channeling and keeps the shower screen clean.

The truth is: the improvement in taste is subtle. But a clean shower screen? Makes you happier every day. Small effect, big smile.

Precision scales
The facts: A deviation of plus or minus 1g means a 5-6 percent change in the extraction rate. Acaia scales with 0.1g precision eliminate this variable.

The truth is: you could live with less. But beautiful precision brings more joy. And joy leads to better shots.

What do you really need?

Let's be honest: Barista equipment can become endless. Every gadget promises a revolution.

Our honest opinion: Only buy what makes you happy. Some tools offer measurable benefits (WDT, tamper, scales). Others primarily bring joy (beautiful milk pitchers, elegant dosing funnels). Both are valid.

You use the tools you love more often. You use the tools you use more often better. That's not esotericism – that's psychology.

Perfectly combined with

Build your complete setup: Normcore tools for puck preparation, Acaia scales for precision, Subminimal for innovative solutions. Everything perfectly complements your espresso machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which barista tool should I buy first?
A WDT tool and a precise scale have the greatest measurable impact. But honestly: buy what appeals to you most. You'll use equipment you love better.

Do the tools fit every espresso machine?
Most tools (WDT, tamper, scales) are universal. Puck screens and sieves come in various sizes. Give us a call – we'll help you find the right size.

Can I see barista equipment in Bern or Zurich?
Yes, you can see and experience all the tools in both showrooms. In Zurich (our larger showroom) we have a more extensive display. Come visit us.

Roastery tip: Invest first in tools that improve extraction (WDT, tamper, scale). Only then in convenience tools. With light, complex roasts (high acidity, volatile flavor compounds), even extraction is even more critical – channeling instantly ruins the carefully developed flavor profile. But if a tool simply makes you happy – that's just as important.
