Hario Water Dripper Clear WDC-6 – Cold Drip, Drop by Drop
A drop releases from the tap, falls onto the coffee bed, and over hours, cold water slowly percolates through the glass downwards – the result is a clear, sweet concentrate, almost without bitterness.
The Water Dripper Clear is Hario's glass cold-drip tower: a method where cold water runs drop by drop through ground coffee. We carry Hario at Coffee Coaching Club.
How Cold Drip Tastes – And Why
Because no hot water is involved, hardly any bitter oils and harsh compounds are extracted. What remains is a soft, sweetish concentrate with delicate aromas and very low acidity – pure over ice or diluted with water. An adjustable metal tap controls the drip rate; the water runs through the coffee bed and a stainless steel filter into the glass pot below. The brewing time is around three to five hours, depending on the drip rate.

Who it's For
For everyone who loves Cold Drip and appreciates brewing as a quiet, visible ritual – at home or in small-scale catering. If you want to start more compactly, check out the Shizuku or the Water Dripper Drop.
What Goes Well With It
For Cold Drip, you grind coarser – a grinder from the hand grinders or the electric coffee grinders. A scale from the Normcore series helps with dosing. Spare parts and accessories can be found in the Hario collection. Chocolatey-nutty beans like Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight are particularly well-suited; for a fruity taste, try Wild Peach.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does one cycle take?
Depending on the set drip rate, around three to five hours. A slower drip will make the concentrate more intense.
How do you drink the result?
The result is a concentrate: pure over ice, diluted with cold water or milk, or stored in the refrigerator for the next few days.
What grind size is suitable?
A rather coarse grind, similar to French Press. This allows the water to flow through evenly and the concentrate remains clear.
Are filters included?
Yes, a stainless steel metal filter as well as 50 paper filters and a measuring spoon are included in the scope of delivery.
Can I see it before buying?
Gladly. You can experience the Water Dripper live in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon.
Roastery Tip
Cold Drip rewards sweet, rounded beans – the chocolate and nut notes of Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight come through particularly intensely in the cold concentrate. If you like it lively and fruity, try Wild Peach. This is our recommendation, one of many.
