biszu 150 CHF Shopguthaben sichern →When adjusting for espresso, you often find yourself exactly between two clicks: one too fine, the next too coarse. This exact gap disappears with the Red Clix axle – it pushes a finer step between each standard click, making adjustments smoother and more precise.
The Red Clix RX35 is an alternative drive axle from Comandante. Instead of 30 micrometers per click like the standard axle, it adjusts the grind size by only 15 micrometers per click – the step size is halved, and the number of clicks is doubled. A full rotation is thus 24 instead of 12 clicks.
Why this affects the taste: In the espresso range, even a single standard click significantly changes the extraction. With the finer resolution, you hit the point where sweetness, body, and clarity come together more precisely. We extract by weight ratio, 1:2 as a starting point, and adjust via the grind size. This remains a learning process, not a push-button promise – and that's what makes it exciting. Our opinion is one of many.
Important: The red axle and the red grind dial belong together and must not be mixed with the standard parts – the finer thread is not compatible.

For everyone who frequently adjusts espresso with their Comandante and wants the finer intermediate steps – and for competition situations where every micrometer counts. Those who primarily brew filter coffee will get along just fine with the standard axle. Nobody needs the Red Clix. Those who want it know why.
You can find the standard replacement axle and other original parts in the Comandante Collection. The suitable grinder can be found in the Hand Coffee Grinders. For espresso from the Comandante, a precise scale is worthwhile – affordable from the Normcore Collection, with app and flow rate display from the Acaia Collection. Our Coffee Machine Comparison shows which machine suits your setup.
It halves the step size of the grind adjustment to about 15 µm per click, thereby doubling the number of settings. This allows for finer dialing, especially in the espresso range.
It fits the Comandante C40 (MK3 and MK4) and the X25 Trailmaster.
No. The red axle and the red dial have a finer thread and must only be used together, not with the standard parts.
24 instead of 12. If you previously used, for example, 10 standard clicks, you will set approximately 20 clicks with the Red Clix.

From our coffee roastery: The finer resolution of the Red Clix shows its strength with espresso. Full-bodied profiles like Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight can be precisely adjusted for sweetness, our recommendation for the vast majority. If you are looking for a lively, fruity experience, try Wild Peach. This is our recommendation, one of many.
